I noticed in 2010 that Robinson Cano's defensive WAR is 0.0. How do you explain this?

The outfield ratings before 1950 are very heavily regressed, because I have very little confidence in them. Sorry for the lateness of the reply. I rarely get to check my own blog these days. 3 (soon to be 4) kids will do that to you.

I have a total zone question, and this is the best way I could find to ask you. First, thanks so much for coming up with the system. It's great to have a well thought out defensive system to use for historical players. I was taking a look at historical WAR at fangraphs, and it seemed to me that there are no great defensive outfielders pre-1950 by Total Zone. The first one I find is Tris Speaker, around 30th. Is there a reason, other than they just weren't particularly great, for this?
